Puzzle Maker is out now on Steam!
Have you ever wanted to create and play your own Puzzling Places puzzles? Now you can! Puzzle Maker lets you turn your favourite images, 3D scans, and models into your very own 2D and 3D jigsaw puzzles. Create a 1,000 piece 2D puzzle from a favourite photo, build a 3D puzzle from a scan, or experiment with your own models and ideas. You can customise your puzzles with different piece counts, background colours, soundscapes and more to make them your own.
Once you’ve made a puzzle, you can play it wherever you like. Enjoy it on your PC, jump into PCVR for a more immersive puzzling experience, or take your creations with you on the go with Steam Deck!
And there’s plenty more to discover! Browse Steam Workshop to find puzzles made by other players and build up your own library of free community-made 2D and 3D puzzles to play.
Create Your Own 2D and 3D Puzzles
Turn your favourite images into 2D puzzles with up to 1,000 pieces, or use your own 3D scans and models to create fully playable 3D Puzzling Places puzzles.
You can customise your creations with different piece counts and generation settings, as well as choose your own background colour and soundscape.
2D puzzles are especially easy to get started with — just choose an image, set up your puzzle, and let Puzzle Maker handle the rest. For 3D creations, compatible scans and models can be processed into the miniature, interactive scenes you know from Puzzling Places.
Share and Discover Community Puzzles
Share your creations with other players by publishing your puzzles directly from Puzzle Maker to Steam Workshop, where the community can discover and play them. You can also browse and play puzzles made by other Puzzling Places players, with the growing number of community creations providing a library of free 2D and 3D puzzles to discover and enjoy.
Play Your Way
Your community-made puzzles can be enjoyed however you like. Play on your PC, jump into PCVR for an immersive puzzling experience, or take Puzzling Places with you on the go with Steam Deck.

Puzzle Maker has changed a lot during testing, and many of those changes came directly from our testers.
We’ve continued to improve the creation and processing workflow, added 2D puzzle creation, made processing puzzles even easier, and more! A huge thank you to everyone who tested Puzzle Maker, reported bugs, shared creations, and gave us feedback along the way. 💙
Free for Puzzling Places Owners
Puzzle Maker is free for everyone who owns Puzzling Places on Steam. There’s no additional cost to create, share, or play community-made puzzles through Steam Workshop!
To get started, you’ll need PuzzleMaker and Portable Blender, both available for free on Steam now! Not sure where to begin? We’re continuing our journey through the Puzzling Places back catalogue, and all of the puzzles from 2022 are now available on Steam! 🧩🎉
The 2022 collection includes some of our early favourites, from Monthly Pack #5 – The Ukraine Pack, Behind High Walls, and Monthly Pack #6 – Remarkable Rooms, alongside additional puzzles including the Hallwyl Pack, Biarritz Pack, Armenia Pack, Lunar New Year Special, Midnight Mass in Vienna, and Union Pacific Railroad Car. With this release, the Steam version now has the same puzzle content available on Meta Quest, giving Steam players access to the full collection of puzzles!
